Jungle Comics #8 (1940) CGC 2.0 – Bob Powell Cover
Kaanga faces a roaring lion with spear in hand on the cover of Jungle Comics #8. The oversized red masthead, dense foliage and surrounding animals give Bob Powell’s composition the busy adventure atmosphere associated with early Fiction House comics.
Published by Fiction House in August 1940, this early issue features Bob Powell cover and art, as credited on the CGC label. The cover bills Kaanga as “Jungle Lord” and advertises “Safari into Shadowland,” providing a period example for collectors exploring Golden Age jungle-adventure titles.
